Salmon DNA (PDRN) in Dubai
A regenerative skin treatment for skin that looks tired, thin or dull, used on the face, neck and delicate under-eye area.
What PDRN is
PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) is a purified DNA fragment extract, traditionally derived from salmon. It is why the treatment is widely known as Salmon DNA. Injected into the skin, it supports the skin's natural repair processes. The aim is better quality, elasticity and radiance rather than volume.
Treatment areas
- FaceFor dull, tired or textured skin needing renewal.
- NeckImproves crepey neck skin quality.
- Under eyesFor thin under-eye skin. Often part of an under eye treatment plan.
Sessions and downtime
PDRN is usually given as a course of sessions a few weeks apart, with results building gradually. Small bumps at the injection points usually settle within about a day, and most people return to normal activities straight away. It combines well with skin boosters and Profhilo.
Side effects, risks and suitability
Common and usually short-lived
Small bumps at the injection points for up to a day, redness, tenderness and occasional small bruises.
Less common but important
Allergic reactions are uncommon. Because PDRN is traditionally derived from salmon, a fish or salmon allergy must be mentioned before treatment.
When it may not be suitable
Pregnancy or breastfeeding, active skin infection or inflammation in the area, or a known allergy to any ingredient. A known fish or salmon allergy is a reason not to treat.
Your consultation covers your medical history, medicines and allergies, so Dr Bahar can advise whether a treatment is right for you.
Downtime and aftercare
Avoid make-up for about 12 hours, and saunas, intense heat and strenuous exercise for 24 hours. Use sun protection on the treated skin.
